Curling Snakes

This was an easy crowd pleaser.  The 4th grades loved drawing these and once we were done I told them how they could apply the same technique when drawing curling ribbon or vines.

Lichtenstein Portraits

The inspiration for this project came from Roy Lichtenstein of course, but also from the fabulous Art Projects for Kids blog.  She has a link to a pre-printed dot sheet the kids can use as a guide for their dots.
After introducing Roy Lichtenstein and his art I demonstrated to the 8th grades how to trace the simple lines of their portraits onto their dot sheets.  Next week we will outline with bold black lines and fill in the dots!  So far I am very excited for this project.  I always mean to do portraits with the 8th grade but time somehow slips away.  Here's their first step:

ASL Hands

This took the seventh grade 6-7 weeks to complete.   It was hard and I honestly wanted to do more with them, but I think we were all itching to finish at our last class!

BIG Pumpkins

Love these Kinder pumpkins!  This lesson hit, secondary colors, warm vs. cool colors, line and shape.
