This is one I took straight from Mr.E. I did it last year with my 4th grades on a smaller scale and I think that may have worked a little better. Using large paper, as I did this time, took several classes to complete and I honestly think the kids became bored with it.
I did those with my 3rd graders this year! They loved it, but it did take way too long for my 40 minute art periods....I let the students who were behind because they were working very meticulously come in during recess, and that worked out really well! The "art nerds" prefer extra art to recess anyway, so it was a win-win. If I do it again, I would probably do it with older students, though!
